What is Transitional Housing?
Transitional living involves bridging the gap between a recovery program and an independent life. Transcend understands that while some people are capable of living independently, others may need the structure of a treatment facility. Additionally, there are those who fall in the middle of these two scenarios; a transitional housing program is appropriate for people in this category. Transitional housing creates a setting that fosters the element of recovery preceding independent living. As to be expected, there are rules in place that residents must adhere to; however, transitional housing provides residents with a sense of autonomy as well.
There is no definite timeline that applies to a transitional housing program. Every case is unique, and meaning some people’s stay may be longer than others. Whatever that timeline looks like, the required level of support must continue to its end.
