What is Transitional Housing?
Transitional living involves bridging the gap between a recovery program and an independent life. Transcend understands that while some people are capable of living independently, others may need the structure of a treatment facility.
The end goal is for recovering individuals to have proper life skills while having a strong support network which would foster self-sufficiency and, to some extent, end homelessness for people who have suffered greatly as the root causes of their addiction.
It's a better alternative for mental health sufferers who have undergone post-co-occurring disorder treatments to transition to this residential arrangement to avoid these people experiencing homelessness and instead stay in communities that empower them to have success in their lives, whether through possible employment and long-term sobriety in the future.
